Hello, Grandparents and Aunts! Today I am 10 weeks and 3 days old and to celebrate this auspicious occasion, I slept for just over 10 hours on Tuesday night! Aren’t I the clever little boy-pumpkin, eh? Mum was on the ball and ready for it, though, because she went to bed not too long after I did, and so she got over eight hours sleep and …
was therefore annoyingly chirpy yesterday morning. Last night I had another big long sleep, but not quite to the 10 hour standard. And just because it was Dad’s turn to tend to my needs during the night, I decided to give him a run for his money and kept him awake for ages and ages after I was supposed to be back asleep. Ha ha ha!
This morning Mum took me back to the clinic to get weighed, and I’m 6.4 kilograms (or 14 lbs 2 oz). I was 3.85 kilograms (or 8 lbs 8 oz) at birth. I’m putting on an average of 200 grams per week which the midwife at the clinic told me was (and I quote) “perfect”!! J
Since last I wrote, I’ve seen my Sydney grandparents, but they’ve now taken off on an extended holiday, so to them I say helloooooooooooo over there! My step-aunt-in-law (I think that’s what she is?) is competing in the Commonwealth Games in Manchester, so maybe my Sydney grandparents can wish her lots of luck from me. I’m hoping I’ll be able to watch her race on television.
I’ve also seen my Great-Grandma Maiden and Great Uncle Bruce, both of whom came up to visit me last Friday. In fact, my Mum’s taking me down to Sydney to see Great-Grandma Maiden tomorrow (Friday), so she can sing me to sleep again as only she can.
On Saturday I have two of my second cousins coming up to visit me, Alex and Rachel Maiden. I think Alex’s husband, Bart, is coming, too, but I have a feeling that the near-by surfing beaches are going to entice him away from gazing at me!
Tonight my Mum and Dad are going out to a movie and are leaving me to look after Chris & Val, who live just around the corner from me. I hope they’re well behaved!
