Hello, Grandparents & Aunts! Today I am 9 weeks and 1 day old. I don’t have an awful lot to tell you this week, except that I’m getting rather sick of my Mum pointing the camera in my face at every turn. Dad says that he’s going to have to buy another computer on which to store all the photos that Mum keeps taking! I’ll attach a very small selection of the pictures she’s taken in the last couple of days…
I went down to see my Great-Grandma Maiden and MJ on Friday. As usual, they thought I was the best thing since sliced bread, and my MJ took me around his nursing home to show me off to all the staff. Tomorrow my Sydney grandparents are coming up to visit me, and then on Friday my Great-Uncle Bruce is bringing Great-Grandma Maiden up to visit me. I’m a star attraction!
I’m starting to recognise a few songs now. After I’ve had some food and while I’m getting my nappy changed, I get to listen to one of my CDs called Baby Bright. It has lots of fun tunes and interesting animal noises on it. When I start getting tired and grumpy, I listen to Mozart and it helps me to sleep. I also like having Twinkle Twinkle Little Star sung to me, but only when it’s accompanied by the twinkling hand actions; I find that mesmerising. I think I’m also starting to play little games. I do something cute, which makes Mum or Dad smile and kiss me, so I do it again. I can keep on like that without tiring for ages and ages. My parents think it’s great now, but just wait until I start making them play the same games like peek-a-boo over and over and over and over again. Then we’ll see just how funny they think it is!!
I’m not sleeping right through the night yet, but I can sometimes sleep for about six hours. It’s just a bit unfortunate that I choose to have my six hour sleeps at times when it doesn’t suit my Mum to sleep, like from about 4pm. I think she’s hoping I’ll have six hours from about 11pm, but I say that’s just wishful thinking on her part! Other than that, I’m very good at night time. When I wake up during the night, I nearly always go straight back to sleep after having some food. And I’m getting a little bit better at sleeping on my own during the day, too, although I do still like to be cuddled while I sleep, and I do have a tendency to squawk if I get put to bed before I’m completely asleep.
It’s my bedtime now. I love you all very, very much and will write again soon.
Hugs and kisses from Alex (aka Fred and King) xxx
PS: Auntie Vicki, please will you give my favourite cousins, Austin and Paige, a big hug and kiss from me? Thank you. I will write to them soon.
