Wednesday 07 September 2005 Hello, family & friends, and welcome to my 16th Update. Today I am 1 year + 2 weeks old. I can’t believe that in my most recent Update I forgot to tell you some very exciting news: I have TWO teeth! Now you might think that my second tooth would choose to grow next to my first one – but you’d be wrong. My tricky little second tooth is on the top, and is on my left side! (I think I told you that my first tooth was bottom left, but is actually bottom right.) This tooth formation does pose logistical biting problems, but it certainly hasn’t slowed my appetite.
Sunday was Fathers Day and although Daddy had to leave fairly early on Sunday morning to go to Indonesia, I got to have some cuddles with him before he left. I’m still a bit too young to understand that Daddy has only gone away for a week, so each morning when I come downstairs with Mummy and Alex, I crawl around calling, "Daddy! Daddy-o! Daddy! Daddy-o!" I can’t imagine how excited I’ll be to see my Daddy when he comes home!
If you listen hard, I’m really trying to say all sorts of things these days. When I get my nappy changed, my parents must often say, "No poo!" because each time I’m on the changetable, I shake my head and seem to be trying to say "No poo!" too. Alex used to do the same thing, and – like Alex – I say it whether there is or not!
I went to see the doctor today to get the chicken pox vaccination. As you know, Alex already has chicken pox, despite having had the vaccine a couple of weeks ago. I was vaccinated in the hope that it will reduce the severity of the case I’m sure to get in the next week or two. I am very good at having needles and didn’t cry or fuss at all. What a brave girl I am!
Unfortunately, because of the chicken pox, we’re all in quarantine and so I wasn’t able to go to see my friends at Mothers Group on Tuesday. I’m hoping to catch up with them again next week, though.
I know that Grandma, Granddad & Nanna have all been suffering from nasty colds this week. I hope this finds each of you much improved, and I look forward to some big cuddles soon.
Lots of love from
Baby Jess
